First Class' Emma Frost is Alice Eve
June 28, 2010

Deadline New York is reporting that Alice Eve is in negotiations to play Emma Frost in X-Men: First Class, to be directed by Matthew Vaughn.

Frost was introduced in Uncanny X-Men #129 in 1980, created by Chris Claremont and John Byrne as the White Queen. She was a prominent member of the Hellfire Club, a group of wealthy mutants who used their power and powers to confound the X-Men, playing a key role in the Dark Phoenix Saga.

Later, Frost formed her own school for mutants, and her own team called the Hellions, before finally being brought into the X-Men fold by Charles Xavier (and writer Grant Morrison). A younger version of the character appeared briefly in X-Men Origins: Wolverine, played by Tahyna Tozzi.

Eve was also in the running for the role of Peggy Carter in Captain America: The First Avenger. Her most notable role to date is Molly in She's Out of My League alongside Jay Baruchel. Eve also played opposite James McAvoy, who will play Charles Xavier, in Starter for 10.

Finola Hughes played the role of Emma Frost in 1996's Generation X.
