Stuttgart, Germany Comes to Cleveland for The Avengers

Marvel Movies Facebook group added photos from Cleveland's Public Square which is doubling for Stuttgart, Germany for a special visit from Loki.

Public Square is a central plaza in Ohio that takes up four city blocks at the intersection of Superior Avenue and Ontario Street. Cleveland's three tallest buildings - Key Tower, the Sohio Building and Terminal Tower. The Avengers' scene is said to involve a plan crashing into Terminal Tower and a black tie gala being interrupted by Loki. A marquee over the entrance of the former Higbee's Department Building written in German was also on display.

Update: (August 23) News Channel 5 along with YouTube users KBodnar10 and DarkKnightOhio posted several videos from the set which feature Tom Hiddleston.

The most exciting part of the night came at around 2:30 a.m. when the crew used a pneumatic ram mounted in the rear of a German police car to flip it onto its roof. The setup for the stunt took a few hours and had to be done twice because the first time the car did not flip completely onto its roof. Filming will continue until at least Wednesday in the Public Square area.
